Do we really need a third Lowe's in the area? The Olympian:

mapThe home improvement chain has a store on Martin Way and submitted plans for a 166,000-square-foot store at College Street and Yelm Highway in Lacey. A west-side Olympia site would be its third in the county.

How do you know there isn't the need for another home improvement store? I would imagine Lowe's has done at least a basic market analysis and determined another location would be financially viable. That would indicate to me that there is the need for a store.

If people are shopping there, wouldn't that indicate a community need? No?

If I built a McDonalds across

If I built a McDonalds across the street from your house, and your teenage children began eating there (refusing to eat anywhere else), would that be filling a need? Who benefits from a new Lowes? Lowes does. Not necessarily the community.
