Oct 15 2005 - 8:00am Chehalis River Council Contact: Abigail Brown, (360) 807-0764 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (9/26/05) Chehalis Environmental Fair WHO: Chehalis River Council, Chehalis River Basin Land Trust, Chehalis Foundation, local Organic Farmers, WSU Master Composters, Capitol Land Trust, Citizens United for Responsible Economic Development, Lewis County Watch, Thurston County Conservation District, Heernett Foundation, The Farmbank Project, Family Forest Foundation, Lewis County Noxious Weed Board,Lewis County Master Composters and Master Gardeners WHAT: "Celebrate Our Environment," 2nd Annual Environmental Fair This year's event will feature informational and educational exhibits from the participating organizations. There will be plenty of interest for adults including displays and a wide array of musical performances, and for the children games, crafts, and a puppet show. The day will start around 3:00 p.m. with introductions and a puppet show; from 4:00 - 6:00 there will be 3 band sets, with breaks for activities and displays. There will be a short environmental movie and break for dinner from 6:00 – 7:00, and 3 more band sets until later in the evening. This family-friendly event is informal and visitors and encouraged to stop in throughout the day. There is no cover charge, but donations will be accepted. The Matrix Coffeehouse has a full menu for dining. WHY: This event will help to raise awareness of local organizations dedicated to supporting environmental and land use issues.
