The Olympia Kashmiri Relief Association (OKRA) invites you to the Eagles Ballroom, 805 4th Ave, Olympia (just past Plum Street) on Friday, November 11, 05 at 6:30 for an event to raise money to assist the victims of the earthquake that shook Kashmir last month.

Dinner will be catered by Mehfil Restaurant there will be life music, Ratna Roy of Urvasi Dance Company performing Orissi dance, and there will be a sale of some Indian and Pakistani items

The scope of devastation of Kashmir earthquake has so far not elicited help from foreign governments or international organizations that comes even close to the pressing needs of its victims. While "relief fatigue" is said to be setting in and snow flakes are thickening over the Kashmiris living without shelter, we must act now. Too many lives have been lost (80,000, according to the recent estimates), but a large number of the three million people who have been made homeless can be saved.
