I don't mean Jeff Gannon, silly! How come some posts have red asterisks?

In the steam tunnels that hon

In the steam tunnels that honeycomb the TESC campus, there now dwell caimans who not only have opposable thumbs but recently learned the art of walking in a bipedal fashion. These creatures, once innocent and happy to swim in Capitol Lake and chew on an occasional jogger have turned surly and dangerous as they begin to adopt human ways. Hacking into the elaborate system of cables and wires in the tunnels, they now have access to OlyBlog and assign a red asterisk to any blog they find objectionable (which is almost all of them) and note the name of the author. Doesn't matter if you are left, right, young, old, serious, silly, religious, humanist, we all taste the same to them caimans. So be careful out there.

The caimans I have seen in public are attempting to pass as humans by dressing in 1940s film noir fashion. Trench coat, fedora, and they smoke cigarettes. They have not learned how to hide their tails, so that should be a big clue in identifying them. I see them sitting in the dark corners of some of Olympia's seedier establishments, trying to look inconspicuous behind a nicotine haze of their own making. Should be interesting to see how many health officials get eaten when they try to enforce that smoking ban.

Or, the explanation for those red asterisks could be something more mundane. The last time I visited Rick's house I had the experience of having a giant reptile looking me right in the face. No, really, I'm not kidding. Just ask him. So be wary of his explanation if he gives one.

Now that the truth is reveale

Now that the truth is revealed, I fear that the caimans will be unduly persecuted, no matter the fact that they devour beloved pets. I propose that caimans be taught a useful skill, such as knitting, in this manner we might be able to prevent prejudice against them.

Perhaps a red asterisk motif for a line of fashionable knit wear would be appropriate for the knitting caimans.

Naturally, this is all my very own idea, but I promise to invest all the profits wisely.

The red ones in the comments

The red ones in the comments list. In the column on right hand side, under our name, that comments list.

Marks what is unread I believe.
