Time to celebrate the Holidays? NO! Celebrate Gender Smash!

GENDER SMASH is a spoken word, open mic, music, juggling, silly human tricks, singing, drag performance time and space. Come perform with trans boys who wear their hearts on their sleeves, first time drag queens, queer youth with something to say,singing princess riot grrls, butches murmuring love poems, 2 spirit folxs gearing up for Homo-a-gogo, gendaqueers and their guitars, MtF's hoola hooping and YOU!!!

GENDER SMASH is open to everyone and you can sign up for 5-minute time slots the night of the event. Gender Smash is tobacco, alcohol and drug free! We sponsor GENDER SMASH every 3rd Thursday of the month. This month it is Thursday, December 15th from 8-midnight. We are at the Manium Warehouse on 4th Ave in Olympia.

To cover cost of rent and support the essential work of GVHP, we ask that you give $5- $50 for a cover, though NO ONE will be turned away for lack of funds.

GENDER SMASH is sponsored by the Gender Variant Healthcare Project, dedicated to improving the healthcare of all gender variant people living in our community. GVHP raises awareness and increases public support for gender variant people both within the medical field and in the general population. We are a diverse group of individuals who seek to provide education, support, advocacy, and resources to the public, to clinics and providers, and to the gender variant people who live in Lewis, Mason, Thurston and other surrounding counties in Washington�s South Puget Sound region.

The term "gender variant" is being used as an umbrella term to include anyone whose gender identity or __expression does not fit within their assigned gender. Identities include but are not limited to: Transgender, MtF, Intersex, GendaQueer, Gender Queer, Transsexual, FtM, Native American Two-Spirit and Nedlech.
