In honor of OlyBlog reaching 100, I propose we pool our resources and open a Caiman Cuisine enterprise. This is a handy solution to the caiman problem: we will control the population, feed people, and make money all at the same time. Plus, the publicity will be fantastic.

I suggest we set up a factory right at the lake edge, for ease of transport and efficiency. Any citizens who complain can be fed to the caimans.

Our first product can be vacumn packed frozen cuts of caiman meat:

Tails (Tail fillet and Tail eye)
Ribs
Backstrap
Leg meat (bone out)
Jowls
Neck fillets
Mixed meat

Here in McCleary we have the Bear Festival, where bear stew has been served since 1959. But this caiman eating thing has us beat for weirdness. However, in Montesano they have "The Festival of People." Yow! Soylent Green!

I think the world can be divided into two classes of people. Those who have seen Soylent Green, and those who have not. I'll always remember Charlton Heston's (playing Detective Thorn) anguished cry of revelation.

I bet McCleary doesn't have the equivalent of caiman tail boots, either. Or do they make boots outta bear?

Yes, we have the equivalent of caiman tail boots. We take off our shoes and call them bear feet! N'yuk, n'yuk, n'yuk.

Soylent Green is worth seeing at least once by anyone who is alarmed by the current trends of our planet. Made in 1973, the story is set in the year 2022. Some of the predictions made in the film are already coming true. I'm not a big fan of Charlton Heston, but the type of character he usually plays really works in this one. This was the great Edward G. Robinson's final movie. I kept waiting for him to light a cigar and ask, "These soylent green mugs ain't on the up and up, are they?"

Yeah, I haven't seen soylent

Yeah, I haven't seen soylent greens.

But you can sign me up for one each of a caiman jowl and backstrap!

I can almost smell the stew simmering now.
