There is a soldier behind me in line here at this coffee shop with his girl it is sweet I want to touch him on the sleeve bless him curse war bless him curse hate bless him ask him if he has the time of day More... There is a coffin beside me carried by friends draped in stars beaten by drums We walk and walk we have a whole world to go If I could I would touch him on the sleeve take he and his girl home We'd play cards far into the night adrift as bombs burst and loved ones mourn
