From The Olympian:

OLYMPIA - Bigelow's Office Supply Co., which for more than 50 years served small businesses and state offices, will close early next year.

Ursula Cook, an employee of more than 30 years who later took over the business from founders Robert and Betty Bigelow, said she expects to close the business at the end of February.

In the meantime, Bigelow's will have a "going out of business" sale of supplies and equipment, including 80 sets of shelves, she said.

Cook cited increased competition and that the "times have changed" as reasons that led to her decision to close the business.

I can't say that I'm surprised about this.  It is, of course, tragic when any locally owned small business goes under, but I've always had the sense that this particular operation was stuck in some sort of anomaly of the space-time continuum in which nothing was allowed to deviate from circa 1955.
