Rep. John Conyers introduced a motion to censure President Bush and Vice President Cheney. Another motion called for a panel to decide whether the offenses are impeachable.

Is the house of cards beginning to fall?

The US Constitution:Article I

The US Constitution:

Article II, Section 4

"The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors."

Obviously "high Crimes and Misdemeanors" is wide open for interpretation. Not saying it's impossible, just a tough road to prove the president deliberately did an illegal action.

My bet is most of this will blow over. It would get real nasty, even in a censure motion, unless there was concrete proof of illegal actions.

There is a wide range of thin

There is a wide range of things that the resolution highlights, from manipulating pre-war intelligence to torture, it could be that Conyers is wanting an investigation in hopes that it will turn something up they can impeach with. I can't see censure being the goal, I don't think Bush or Cheney care about being reprimanded by congress.

If you click the links you can read the actual resolutions written by Rep. Conyers.

I read the first resolution,

I read the first resolution, against President Bush.

Nothing there which seemed able (or even worth) bringing about impeachment or censure hearings.

I would be very, very shocked if "torture" became the new standard for impeachment/censure.

Manipulating pre-war intelligence? Or was it misinterpreting?

Like I said, you have to prove these actions were done deliberately.

I suggest getting a warrant to check out what VP Cheney has stashed away under the VP's DC mansion.

Soon after he moved in neighbors complained about mysterious blasts and rumbling throughout the vicinity. This unusual activity seemed to emanate from the VP's mansion.

Mainstream press never followed up on it.

This was before the events of September 11th, 2001.
