Pafoom!: Amos Grumbly prevents an atomic meteor from colliding with the surface of the Earth by using his uniquely shaped head (it has a dish-like indentation) as sort of a catcher. (Dogtown Zoo (1982)) Pant! Gasp! Puff! Pant! Puff! Pant! Sweat! Sweat!: A jogger stops to talk with a slob in an easy chair. (Big Picture Picture Book (1983)) Pant! Pant!: Otto Manic catches his breath after his vast mind-powers fail to absorb a Morty Dog into his cranium. (Scratchez 8 (1986)) Pat! Pat!: Pchunk!: A psychopath drops an ax on the head of a man who is sort of a living statue. (Gimmie Comics 1 (1973)) Pfffft: A hitchhiker puffs on a joint. It's Evil Mr. Time!" who sends Cosmo on "An unscheduled detour." His ship has become a time machine, "Jeepers! I'm spinning out of control while zipping along at the speed of light! My life is in grave danger! Gosh!" The ship PLOWs into the ground in 1590 England, "Goodness gracious!" (Dog of Dawn, Dog of Dusk (1985)) Pluck!: Pluck! Zip! Splook!: A blinded Morty Dog removes his nose (PLUCK!) and replaces it with an eyeball he took from a train freight car filled with eyeballs (ZIP! SPLOOK!) (Rise and Fall of Morty the Dog (1987)) Plunk!: Plup!: See Bumpety Bumpety Bumpety Bump Zip! Plip! Affix! Boot! Boot! Plup! Poink!: Poink! Doink! Plop! Deflate!: Modernman "scans" two obnoxious aliens, causing their brains to pop out (POINK! DOINK!) and their bodies to shrivel (PLOP! DEFLATE!) (Modernman 3 (1999)) Poink! Plink!: A round grapefruit-sized ball shoots out of a tower (Poink!) and screams through the air (Eeee ... etc.), hitting a random citizen on the head (Thunk!), causing him to fall over with X's for eyes and upon impact with the ground the top lid of his cranium opens (Clunk!), allowing a small black programming box to fall out (Plink!) (Cranium Frenzy 10 (2003)) Poink! Poink! As a Morty Dog happily jumps through the air, using the craniums of two innocent citizens as springboards (citizens who were just minding their own business like a couple of norms), this sound is made. (Fan Scene 1 (1984)) Poink! Poink! Doink! Doink!: A Morty Dog disengages his arms (POINK! x 2) and legs (DOINK! x 2) as if he was made out of clay. (State of beings 12 (1992)) Poink! Poink! Foop!: Created when a Morty Dog removes two forks stuck in his forehead. (APC Tales 5 (1985)) Poink Zip! Gloop!: A Morty Dog dancing in the heavens hops around (POINK) and accidentally falls off a cloud, hurtling toward Earth (ZIP!) and lands (GLOOP!) in "the planet's filthiest, scummiest, most disease-ridden infected pool of sleaze." (Rise and Fall of Morty the Dog (1987)) Poit!: A microscopic Morty Dog, who had been plugging the Whole Hole in the head of a man, becomes unplugged, hence releasing strange forces. (Cranium Frenzy 6 (1990)) Poke!!: Poke! Crunch!: "Dullard Hotchkiss was a high school classmate of mine. His nickname, for obvious reasons, was 'Dough-Boy.'" (A jerk pokes him and says, "Hey-hey, it's the Dough-Boy", followed by the "Poke" sound effect). "His sense of humor, however, was underdeveloped" (this is where Dullard pounds his massive fist on top of the cranium of the jerk, creating the "Crunch" sound effect). (Misc Comics : Dough-Boy Issue, (1985)) Poof!: Poof Foom Poof: The sound of Wild Pointy Guys piercing the cloud-like floor of heaven as they shoot through. (Bezango (1994)) Poof Poof: A Morty Dog brings Millard Fillmore and Chester Alan Arthur back to life by simply adding water to their cremated remains, creating "Instant Presidents!" (How Two Ex-Presidents Went Up My Nose (1994)) Poof! Poof! Poof! Poof!: See Zot! Poof! Poof! Poof! Poof! Poof! Poof! Poof! Poof! Poof! Poof!: Mr. Morgan sends a mystic ray and eliminates all the knives carried by soldiers who are about to engage in hand-to-hand combat with each other. (Random Reflections (1976)) Poof Poof Yank!: As a Morty Dog contemplates storming a government bastion in a strange land, a tiny Morty with a halo and wings appears on his shoulder (Poof), "Morty, be careful. Don't mess with the natural order. Who are you to interfere with the Big Plan?" Then another tiny Morty, this one with horns, appears on his other shoulder (Poof), "Morty, this is your moment. Grab it! Seize all power! Show no mercy!" Morty pauses, and then notices both figures are in reality marionette puppets. He pulls on the strings (Yank) and down comes the Big G, who is controlling both of the tiny puppets. "Well well well," says Morty, not surprised. (Cranium Frenzy 10 (2003)) Poompf!: See Sproing! Oing! Boing! Trip! Pfpft! Poompf! Pooosh!: See Skritch Skritch Pooosh! Psssssh Pssssh Poosh!: See Zip! Whap! Pop! Poosh! Poot!: Pop!: Pop! Boink!: Minden Hart, bothered by the burden of having a sentimental heart, decides to pop his head off, which he does as if it was an electrical outlet. Then he bounces away (BOINK!) finally free of emotion. (Natural Functions (1986)) Pop! Fizz!: A man with no face in a New York dooknook cranium regards a dangerous drink which makes this noise. (Ultra Klutz 25 (1988)) Pop! Pop!: Pop! Pop! Pop!: Wild Pointy Hat Guys, like rockets, shoot out from the underground and into the air, popping the beautiful vapor creations of the Artnoids as if they were soap bubbles. (Bezango (1994)) Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop!: Globe-shaped thought-balloons conjured by a Morty Dog morph into eggs, out of which hatch (POP! x 5) fanboys who blindly follow Morty as a God. (Rise and Fall of Morty the Dog (1987)) Pop! Sizzle! Zap!: A media gizmo transforms a rodent-like creature into pixels. (Library Comix (1987)) Pop! Thud! Ignite: A bird was swimming in the dish-like indentation of Amos Grumbly's cranium using it as a birdbath, when he was trapped as a result of Amos stopping an atomic meteor from touching the Earth by using his unique head to catch it. If this meteor touches the surface of our planet, the whole globe explodes. The bird does not like being confined, and pops out (Pop!) causing the meteor to fall and hit the surface (Thud! Ignite) bringing an end to existence as we know it. (Dogtown Zoo (1982)) Pop Whoosh! Swoosh! Foosh! Sssssssss Fooossssssshhh: The Air Pump Angel overinflates a Morty Dog, who pops free and careens around the sky. As he whooshes away, Morty swipes the Air Pump Angel's halo and wears it himself. (Cranium Frenzy 5 (1985)) Pop! Zip! Crash!: Snoodle B. Clapsaddle has his head glued to the ceiling of his garage. As his lawnmower makes a break for it, Snoodle grabs the handle, pulling him free (Pop!) and together they ZIP to the wall (Mower: "Freeeeeedom!"), where the mower breaks through with a CRASH! (Mower: "Ynngh!!") (Cranium Frenzy 7 (1994)) Pound!: See Pow! Pound! Pow!: A pistol fired in the air by a drunken member of the Grub Harbor County Sheriff's Dept. (Sasquatch Comix 5 (1983)) Pow! Pound!: A Morty Dog had his head run over by truck, causing brain damage, so now he is chained in someone's front yard, pulverizing the sidewalk with a hammer, thus creating this sound. (Lordy, Lordy, Where's Mr. Morty? (1984)) Pow Pow!: See Bra-ap! Brap! Pow Pow! Pow Pow K-Pow: A gangster cat shoots a mouse. (Cranium Frenzy 1 (1981)) Pow! Pow! Pow!: Prospectors shooting at a Sasquatch, Mt. St. Helens, 1924. (Sasquatch Comix 3 (1983)) Pow! Zing!: The cartoon career of Super Cutie, the Stick-Girl Rabbit lasts for only a single panel as a bullet puts an abrupt end to her existence. (Big Picture Picture Book (1983)) Ptuu!: On a sleepy porch in Florida, Zeke spits out tobacco in response to an invitation to drink the waters of the fountain of youth out of a toilet. (Dogtown Zoo (1982)) Ptuuu! Splish!: Made when a balloon-head being named Bingo spits the nose of a Morty Dog into the martini, substituting as an olive, to a man who proposes a toast to Tony Dow. (Eternities of Darkness (1984)) Puff Puff: A hitchhiker puffs on a joint. (Random Reflections (1976)) Pull! Fold Rip Rip Rip Rip Rip Rip Rip Spindle Shred Mutilate! Shred! Tear! Rip! Mangle: When a heartbroken man asks his friend George for advice, all George can do in response is reach up and grab one of the pre-packaged cliche word balloons, one after another, with sayings like "I know where you're coming from," "Yeah, I can relate," etc. Tired with the canned replies, the heartbroken man pulls the balloons down and rips them up, leaving George only able to respond with an empty word balloon. (Random Reflections (1976)) Pull! Tug!: A Morty Dog attempts to extract his disengaged nose from a staros. (Sketchman 2 (1986)) Punch!: See Aargh! Gasp! Bam! Spit! Punch! Puncture!: A despondent swordfish jumps off a skyscraper, and his pointy beak punctures the interior surface of the hollow Earth in which he lived. (Cranium Frenzy 2 (1982)) Push!: A Morty Dog PUSHes his way to the podium as he prepares to make an unannounced address to a group of the power elite in the far future. (Natural Functions (1986)) Push! Grab! Bash Hit Rip Shred Smash Crash Fight: Stanley has been split into four beings. One of them is a bit more mercenary than the others and pushes the remaining trio into an approaching monster, and then runs away, safe and sound, telling himself, "*Whew!* What kind of world would this be without teamwork?" (One Way Flight to Anywhere But Here (1977)) Push! Whump!: George, a cranky atheist, has been introduced to a giant figure identified as God by a minister. George pushes over the figure, which lands with a big WHUMP! and out of the hollow soles of the feet emerge a ton of little elves.
