...but Sleeping Beauty cannot be reached for comment at the moment. I'm the kind of mother who always let someone else take the kids sledding -- too cold for me! I'll ask her when she wakes up where she used to go, and let you know. BTW, where did you live before Oly? Are you enjoying the rain?

I moved to Olympia long after my sledding days. But I know a great place in Duluth.

Sunrise Park

There's a really long, gradually descening, hill in Sunrise Park that is perfect. At the bottom of the hill is another 50 yards of flat surface to slow yourself down.

I must not have walked all of Sunset Park - I missed the area that you are talking about but it's right near my house -- so next time we have the conditions I'll run right over... THANKS!!

It doesn't snow here.

What you saw yesterday might be all we get in a winter. I can only think of one or two times since 2000 that the snow has lasted more than half a day before turning to wet yucky sludge.

Phoebe says Bigelow House is a good place to sled, but watch out for the prickly bush at the bottom of the hill.
