wonderful

I am excited to welcome you to our site. We offer you good will and healthy doses of misunderstanding. If at some point you feel conspired against, remember well you heard it here, first.

I'm glad you mentioned your TESC status, your article is now hyperlocal. Feel free to fight about that definition whenever. We do that stuff sometimes...because that's how we roll.

And please don't feel inhibited, I assure you everybody else is always wrong.

What are you studying?

digital humanities...can you give us a 25 words or less definition please?

not in 25 words or less, or in Erselle's own words...

but wikipedia says:

The Digital Humanities, also known as Humanities Computing, is a field of study, research, teaching, and invention concerned with the intersection of computing and the disciplines of the humanities ... It studies how these media affect the disciplines in which they are used, and what these disciplines have to contribute to our knowledge of computing.

welcome!

I am interested in hearing your thoughts about process here given your current study of digital community-building.

The rhetoric here can get a bit charged at time and as an "greener" you could be a lightning rod for some reservoir of resentment, bad feeling, and prejudice regarding TESC.  It is helpful to have a somewhat thick skin, but it is also helpful to have a desire to really communicate important, complex dynamic ideas in an environment that will challenge and help the ideas develop.
