Back by popular demand is the Black Lake Grange Hall all-comers bluegrass music jam the fourth Saturday each month (through February at least). Talkin' banjos, guitars, fiddles, mandolins, Dobros and string bass here. All ages and skill levels welcome in this laid-back family-fun event. Make a donation at the door to help pay for use of the venerable grange hall. Wallflowers welcome too; even if you don't play or sing come on out and see what the music is all about. You might just get inspired to take up an acoustic instrument and start pickin'. The grange is at 6011 Black Lake Blvd. (or Street, or Road, or something). Orient from S.R. 101 on Olympia's west side. South on Black Lake Blvd. and continue all the way past Black Lake (be on your left). About three blocks or so beyond lake the road will take sharp turn to the right and become 62nd Ave. You'll see the new(ish) fire station on the right and its flashing yellow light over the road. Grange is immediately past the station inside the curve. Car pool, drive safe and see y'all there. |
