Other than Carlyon (maybe Steele), the only other name that means anything to me is Dinsmore. I went to high school with a Mr. Charlie Dinsmore. They must be related.

The graphic is a 1909 Cadillac. C.J. Lord was a banker who originally lived in the mansion that is now the State Capital Museum. M.E. Hay was the Governor at the time, I believe. Carlyon, of course, is another big Olympia name. I know there are OlyBloggers out there who know a lot more about Oly history, perhaps they can fill us in on the others. By 1913, this list became much too big to print. Looks like 1909-1912 were pivotal years for the automobile making a permanent impact around here. It always sort of blew me away that my grandmother, who was born in 1891 in Centralia and died in 1978 in Olympia, talked about being born in the age of the horse and buggy and lived long enough to see Americans bouncing around on the Moon.

but that could be for one of two reasons. First, maybe they were a little slow to jump into the new home technology, or second, maybe they didn't register their vehicle.
