It was refreshing to see....

That more people live in the city than just the 20 OlyBlog users.

WA Performing Arts Center

had a terrific photo display. The artist was someone I had never encountered before: Charles "Teenie" Harris, an African -American photographer from the Pittsburg area. I often find much of contemporary photography homogenous and contrived. The images on display @ WAPAC were powerful. The image of the "Boy Boxer" was especially moving, as was the image of the "Tom Thumb" wedding. Overall, I found this particular ArtsWalk to be chock full of great images. And the bright sun was an added bonus!

Femme de Fabrique!!!

WOW. They blew my mind while simultaneously making me feel really out of shape. I really loved Ann Ploeger's photos at the Black Front Gallery, and Nikki McClure's papercuts at Bryce's Barbership were fabulous as usual. Best artwork of the night goes to the kid's elephant paintings in the window of Angel's Thai Restaurant. I think they were done by Hansen Elementary students.

Yeah, Femme de Fabrique was

Yeah, Femme de Fabrique was a great show, and I was amazed at how many people packed into the Oly Salvage warehouse to see them. The highlight of the night!

I went friday night

Ran into Phil and Meta along the way as well. I took in some things and listened to a band play at the theater, all in all it was a good night. Too many people for my taste, but that's just some claustraphobia coming out...or something.
