Now that diesel prices are so high, the biodiesel is competitive. If you have a newer diesel you should be able to run the B20 (20%) and likely can run the B99/100 (99/100%). Acme Fuel sells both B20 and B100 at their 505 Lilly road station.

If you can run the stuff, do it! It lessens our dependence on foriegn oil, its better for the environment, and it is cost effective now!

Rick, how about you put the daily or weekly price of biodiesel at Acme/Fast Fuel in the border, maybe by the weather or such.

Good idea

I was thinking the same thing. At Acme/FF they actually have B20 and B99. That's what I'm running on these days. You have to watch out when you fuel up -- the biodiesel doesn't trigger the automatic shutoff!

I'll post later today about

I'll post later today about the biggest unfair advantage petroleum companies have because of government policy.

Here's a hint: The national highway system.

what grade are you running

Rick, I forgot what kind of vehicle you were running the bioD in? Also what grade are you running, B20 or B99? Have you noticed any differences for better or worse?

My rig...

...is a 1984 Mercedes 300D Turbo with 342k on it. Runs like a top. I run the B99 from around now until late fall, then switch over to approx. B75 (mixed manually) for the winter. I use a block heater in the winter to aid with cold-weather starting. There are some noticable differences between the different grades: with B99, I get somewhat better mileage, and the car runs a bit smoother, but a little less peppy.

I just LOVE the fact that the thing runs on soy.

Sold

Well, its pretty cool when a green friendly fuel is that much cheaper than the rest. Still undecided whether to run B20 or B99. I agree with you it is cool that it runs on a harvest crop like soy, or canola. I guess the Fast Fuel stuff is soy.
