Look, her photo got published in the Stranger!! I am so excited. (Phoebe, however, is very blase about the whole business.) You can bet this is going into her college applications!

Wooohoooo

Way to go Phoebe!

Whoa, the Stranger!

Congrats!

Very cool, and now Norm and I and others can all swagger around saying that we met Phoebe before she became famous. :)

lol

I can imagine it now.....20 years down the road, telling tales to my friends and family, "This one time, back in Olympia, we were having coffee at the 'Borders', that's what it was called back then, and one of my friends whom I was talking with had a daughter named Phoebe. Even back then she was too cool to hang with us, but we were ok with that, we knew she'd go somewhere."

Too Cool for Skool!

I was introduced to her when she must've been nine. She shyly looked away and refused to say hi. I got snubbed by a star! That story should earn me the respect and reverence of my Grandkids.

Please give me a second grace. Please give me a second face. I've fallen far down, the first time around, now I just sit on the ground in your way.

She's just shy!

People often thinks she's unfriendly, but really she's just shy. And she'd rather read than talk to grown-ups. She's gotten a little friendlier in recent years, though, but she's still no extrovert. Peace became pizza. -- Guglielmo

I wasn't trying to imply

I wasn't trying to imply that she had been rude. I remember laughing when it happened.

Oh, good.

Actually, I stress a lot about this issue, because I'm by nature pretty outgoing, and Phoebe is NOT... I worry a lot that people will think she's unfriendly rather than shy. Especially now that she's got that surly teenager thing going on.

that's excellent

A shout out from our family to Phoebe.

Democracy Now!

Great photo, Phoebe. It was also on Democracy Now! today.
»

Holy smokes!

And deservedly so. It's a fine photo.
»

You're kidding?! Did she get a photo credit THERE?

Ohmigod that is SO cool!

I did a search and I couldn't come up with her name anywhere on Democracy Now, but maybe I did something wrong.
»

Well, I suppose the important thing is ...

... the image is out there, and it helps Phoebe realize that she's capable of making a contribution. Still, I wouldn't mind seeing her get some recognition!
