Jun 16 2007 - 5:30pm Jun 17 2007 - 9:00pm OLYMPIA - Olympia's 2007 Capital City Pride parade and festival will be the city's largest-ever, according to event organizers who said this week they expect 10,000 to come to Washington's capital city for Pride weekend.
This year's expanded festival is now a two-day event, featuring events around Olympia Saturday, June 16, and the Pride Parade and festival downtown at Sylvester Park Sunday, June 17. Olympia's Pride parade begins at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, leaving from the Capitol Building traveling north on Capital Way to the park. Olympia Mayor Mark Foutch will serve as Grand Marshall of the parade.
Food, entertainment, family activities and more will fill downtown's Sylvester Park Sunday, while concerts and events take place around downtown Olympia on both Saturday and Sunday. Community groups representing a broad spectrum of organizations will also be on hand.
The weekend's full schedule is available at www.capitalcitypride.net. |
