I've lived in Olympia since 1989, and the Procession is the absolute pinnacle of Oly Life, in my humble opinion. Who can't feel at least a tiny bit of hope when ya see the samba dancers, in all their wisdom and glory. I want to marry them all and have flocks of dancing flamingos with them. I mean it.

great video!

of course, your soundtrack points out the need to have more brass bands in the Procession...

Amen to the band comment.

The procession needs music - not just percussion.

They are wonderful....

....and the average parade viewer only sees them for a few minutes.... but some friends and I danced with them for over half the parade, and I would have personally paid for a tuba lay some phat luscious lines of bootie bass for the pagans in the crowd that want to acknowledge some technological advancements in the world of partying. I think a simple drum and bass type sound would do wonders. The band in the video is ReBirth Brass band, they have been in town here a few times. Tor Clausen - MusicalFurnishings.com - TorStudios.com

Rebirth Brass Band....

...yes! They played at Tugboat Annie's. Was it two Mardis Gras(s) ago?

At least,

maybe they could learn another beat? Just one more, spice it up some. Don't be afraid to add a paradiddle, I always say.
