Puget Sound Salish Stories & Songs that explore a sustainable connection to the natural world.

Prominent Native American storytellers and musicians Johnny Moses, Pauline Hillaire, and Misty Kalama, will share stories and songs of Puget Sound at The Evergreen State College, South Puget Sound Community College, and Squaxin Tribal Museum. This rare opportunity is part of a “Winter Liberal Arts Forum: “Doing the Right Thing: Ethics, Education, and Mythos,” in response to current local and global issues in sustainability. They will share native stories, songs, and cultural teachings that can reconnect us to the natural world, and indigenous philosophies of sustainability and respect. We have listened to the songs of the world around us. When we hear the sound of the cedar branches moving in the wind, we hear a song.
