this Jew says:

this is way misleading to post this on Olyblog without stating UPFRONT that this is a Christian event. Hello????

I myself would definitely feel like I was in a room full of SO's if I attended this event just on the basis of the post without looking at the flyer.

State your beliefs upfront, thats shady to hide it in the fine print.

FIGHT THE POWER. NO RULERS NO MASTERS. SMASH CAPITALISM. that is all.

Flyer update

Thanks for all of your responses. I appreciate some of you pointing out what I left out of the event description. Sorry about that. Yes, it is, like the attached flyer states, an interactive, Scriptural-based Keynote presentation. The Scriptures will be used as a benchmark in order to view today's most pressing current events, like climate change and natural disasters. On another note, to clarify some of those questions posed above and in the meeting flyer - most of the questions are rhetorical, like, "Is cursing God the unpardonable sin? What about stealing, lying, adultery or murder? Well, come and see that none of these are "unpardonable." As far as the "rapture belief," it is taught in the Scriptures, but, it is not, as some religious doctrines postulate, a secret event. Hope to see some of you and your loved ones there on Thursday nights. We'll do what we can to make plenty of room. Take care! Scott

Cursing God

Is cursing God the unpardonable sin?

No. — My God is wholely willing to pardon those who have offered up curses.

Yeah

I thought something was up when I read the text of the blog - so I was curious to see what the flyer said. It should be made clear that the event is from a religious perspective - that of belief in the rapture...

The Right Answers?

It seems that the Obama win might have even played into the hand of those who advocate Rapture - the idea that the world will suffer some sort of apocalypse where only the chosen few will be lifted up and elevated to some sort of elite status.

ugh. This is from the flyer:

Well, I am certainly curious! For example, is cursing God the unpardonable sin? Inquiring minds want to know.

Are these two the same event?

If they are, I'd like to know why the person who posted here on Olyblog neglected to mention the religious nature of the event.  I mean, it might be a tad awkward for someone to show up wanting to know what they can do about climate change, only to be subjected to a bunch of pseudo-millenialist wierd stuff.

The Canaanite's Call

Awkward indeed.

Like the time my late father went to a meeting about veteran's benefits in Steilacoom. He thought it was odd that everyone was sitting in a circle until he realized he was in the wrong building and he was attending a group session for sex-offenders.
