More than 50 years ago, the Washington State Supreme Court played a small but significant part in the historic trials at Nuremberg, Germany following World War II. Now some of that history is making its way back to the Court, and will be on display in the Washington State Law Library from October 2 through the end of November.
The library will launch its display with an open house on Oct. 2 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The library is located in the Temple of Justice on the Capital Campus in Olympia.

Local / Global Relevance

Thank you for bringing attention to this, Sarah. Sounds like an interesting exhibit, and a good excuse to check out the Temple of Justice

Irony can be funny, sometimes. This is not one of those times.

I'm glad that the state of Washington had some part in the Nuremburg trials, but I won't forget that we also had some part in moving people through a Selection Center at the Puyallup Fairgrounds toward camps in Utah, for nothing more threatening than being Japanese Americans. And I won't forget that we're still doing the same crap right now to folks who don't enter the US with permission from the powers that be.

Thanks Sarah

Another bit of Washington trivia that was new to me. In the 1990s I met guy in Olympia who said he was a guard at Spandau when Hess was there. So there's another little connection.
