Today, begins a new chapter in Norm's life, and others as well.

 JD

Joseph Daniel (JD) was born on March 15, 2008, and came in at a whopping 8lbs 3.6oz, 22 inches tall. He had a pretty rough time, so he's got some strawberries and a pretty rough bump on his head. Otherwise, he's got all his fingers, all his toes, and is an awfully quiet little baby. Wish me luck!

Aww....

Congrats Norm!  Where do we bring the cigars?  What a cute little bugger!  :-)  That's awesome!  Big kid, I weighed in around that when I was born.  Be careful, he might get as big as I am!  :-p

Friggin' Awesome man!  Did I mention congrats?!!!

Good luck with the little bundle!

WOW!

Congrats!  What a cutie patootie!  You sure know how to make a beautiful baby!  Can I hold him?  Need a babysitter?  I suspect we'll be seeing a few middle of the night posts from you now since sleeping will be out of the question for a bit!  LOL!

Before you know it, he'll be joining you at the firing range!

My best to you all!  : )

Congratulations. I hope JD and his mom are doing well, getting some sleep and that you all get a chance to take it easy for awhile. Big day, big day.

Congrats dude,

a whole new chapter in your life, and all for the better. And enjoy every second, because time really does fly by.

So when will he get his first gun?

and I would suggest

The Baby Browning of course!  :-p

Yes, your life has now

Yes, your life has now expanded into something bigger than yourself. This is a good thing. Parenthood is the pinnacle, man. How's Mom doin'?
»

Congrats, Norm!

You carried it well.  I never knew you were pregnant
»

Congratulations

and a big welcome to J.D. Parenthood is wonderful, and thoroughly exhausting. Best wishes to the whole family.
»

Congrats and good luck Norm

Finally you get to say things like "bincky" without feeling self-conscious.

Sweet!

What's the band-aid on his hand about? Poor little pookie!
»

Sweet

Congrats! And may everyone involved all get plenty of sleep and rest now, sweet dreams.
»

Sarah, I'm surprised at you!

Sarah, I'm surprised at you! A baby has been born...nobody in the house is going to be getting any sleep for awhile :-)
»

Congrats Norm, Mama and son!

I didn't even know you were expecting!

»

Thanks everyone

I carried it well ;)  Mom is doing fine, a bit sore though and some blood pressure issues. JD has a lovely little contusion on his head from the vaccuum and will probably be staying a few nights (currently in the special care nursery, but he's getting lots of love from his Daddy) I will post more pics as I regain my sanity. I'm a little in shock right now. And yeah, sleep. I can't even express the exhaustion wow. love you guys

Poor little bugger

I hope JD will be fine, and you and mama can get back on an even keel soon!  Lemme know when you get back into circulation and I'll buy the beers.

I loved being at the

I loved being at the hospital walking around with a new baby while mommy slept.  Congratulations, Norm.

!!!

Norm,

Congratulations! I wish you, momma, and baby the best.. Im shocked, ive been gone a while, but had no idea you were gonna be a daddy.. Very cool..

The best part is watching them do new stuff every day, with little hands and feet too..

Careful watch

I couldn't find the dried section of the umbilical cord after it fell off my daughter during her first week. Near as I can figure, the cat, Ahab, must have eaten it.

This is probably just one of many reasons why cats are not allowed in maternity wards.

Also, those damn binkies have a way of just vanishing into thin air. Dozens of them must be floating around in some special binky dimension, because I never could account for where they went.

Just wait until you get your first smile from the little guy, Norm. Life comes into focus during moments like that.

say good bye to sleep

Or at least sleep as you know it. Don't worry dude, I'll be there again on Wednesday.

Welcome to the world baby

Welcome to the world baby Joseph!  Your daddy once gave my little boy a toy that he could change from a car to a robot but I couldn't ever figure out how to change the damn thing back into a car and also stepped on it in the middle of the night which was not a fun surprise.  When you are of age, we will conspire together and bring revenge on your father!

Congrats Norm!  PM me if you need anything!

just a lil update

Mom and baby are both still in the hospital. JD is out of the nursery now though, and in with his Mom and I. Mom got a little transfusion and is feeling much better. Dad is trying his best (I know, just imagine) to not be too overprotective and neurotic. He even got a little applause from the nursing staff for changing his first diaper.....ever. Did you know that newborns can poop there body weight? I didn't.
»

Warning!

little boys pee in arcs too!  LOL!  When you change a little boys diaper, pull the front down for a few seconds to let the cool air work it's magic on him and then pull it back up quickly!  This will avoid any worries of drinking something that resembles lemonade but really isn't!  LOL!
