I was recently in Olympia, Washington. This is the capitol of Washington State. For those of you who have never been to Olympia, it’s small and clean, like Reese Witherspoon.

That was funny but I need to

That was funny but I need to point out that, after saying Olympia's small and clean, he referred to us as a dumpy little town.

Also, are we really such a hick town that we only have two cars on the streets? you'd think there wouldn't be any complaints from the bicyclists.

Damn the United States! I wish I may never hear of the United States again!

As a protagonist of projecting deep-seated distaste for Olympia.

We should detract the hicktown argument .. because that's a tired old horse that I keep shocking back to life.. again and again.

What is unique about Olympia? What makes it a gem?

Some say local activism.. others say its green friendly.. but what if you just don't get along in Olympia and have to take the place day by day?

There's got to be something the town has to offer.. otherwise people wouldn't try to sell it so hard to themselves and others..

For me..? It's a town I think you bloggers know.. that I just don't love. ...except that insanely cool job opportunities that just presenting themselves.

For me, this is a town that is hard not to have a unique job in. Even for paisleyboxers who is at most times a social toxin.. I have never been without opportunity to get really cool jobs... even if they are in Olympia.. the jobs I keep getting here.. are pretty damn awesome.

what's unique?

I was just telling a friend about the Oly film fest opening night and how it made me really appreciate Olympia. Things I like about here: streets being closed downtown for music that is not sponsored by a corporation, our downtown which is so local, the downtown murals and graffiti, the fact that we have salt water right here, and fresh water springing out of the ground all over the place (that guy obviously missed a lot).

Welcome!

I love our downtown too. I'm hoping eventually the city will create all sorts of wonderful artesian well parks.
