The puppeteers, Yuqin Wang and Zhengli Xu, won numerous national awards, including the prestigious US National Heritage Fellowship.

Chinese puppetry has more than one thousand years of recorded history. It began as a cultural ritual and became a form of entertainment for both the royal family and the public. Over the years, it has developed to combine artistic expression with detailed handcraft, traditional Chinese opera movements and music, beautifully engineered mechanical puppet parts, and Western technology.

This is a co-production of SPSCC and Evergreen Silk Roads.
