Street Protest at Duke / Areva / ADAGE headquarters Biomass Incinerator Today

This biomass incinerator in Grays Harbor is 4 times smaller than the one ADAGE wants to build

Come join us as we work to give the Energy giant Duke /Areva ADAGE the boot.  They want to install the largest wood incinerator ever build right here in the South Puget sound.

Protest is at 1620 Olympic Hwy N. It is a multi office two story building. Other office space is taken up by Gateway Properties Management, GOP Headquarters, and two lawyers, Gazori, Brungart.  Take the third Shelton exit from highway 101 north, then turn right onto Wallace Kneeland and then right at the light onto Olympic Highway.

Show Mason County Commissioners that we don't want ADAGE pollution in Oly!

HO! HO! ADAGE MUST GO!

If you have been looking for a way to show the COMMISSIONERS how you feel about the INCINERATORS and not having a VOICE in the DECISION making process, this is your CHANCE.

There will be a DEMONSTRATION THURSDAY, 5-7pm.  You can come early and stay late.  This is the first demonstration taking place after normal working hours so be prepared for a large turn out.  The LOCATION is  KNEELAND BLVD @ WALMART in Shelton.  That is the third Shelton exit off of highway 101

See you there!!!

Some people may  arrive as early as 4 but this is rally is timed  for working people, most folks will be there by 6pm.

Wood left to rot in the forest

These picutres were taken in four different places in the Olympics.   Two in the National Forest and two on private forest land.  They all show logging debris that was left behind to rot.  It was not burned in open piles in the forest and it was not trucked into town to be burned in a biomass incinerator.

June 1st Port of Shelton Commissioners Meeting

It was standing room only for the Port of Shelton Commissioners meeting on Sanderson way yesterday. Citizens are up in arms about two proposed biomass incinerators in Shelton. Fallout from these plants will affect our entire region. The Port will lease property to the biggest (ADAGE) incinerator. ADAGE is a LLC made by the joining of Duke and Areva. Duke is a US coal energy company and Areva is a French nuclear company. The second proposed incinerator will be put in by Simpson. The Evergreen State College is also considering installation of a biomass incinerator.

During the Port meeting, Port Commissioner Jack Miles moved to have the port stop communications with ADAGE. Commissioners Jay Hupp and Thomas Wallitner voted against Jack's move. Later Jack Miles asked the port executive John Dobson to resign, citing his investments in Areva as one of the reasons.
