There was a great turn-out of I would estimate about 40 people or so. We gathered at Moxlie Basin in Watershed Park, then hiked to a parking lot where Indian Creek emerges from an underground culvert, then to Yashiro Garden for the Global Dance, and then to Eastbay, where Moxlie Creek (combined with Indian Creek) join the Salish Sea.

Dance Oly Dance, Olympia’s local dance TV show, invites you to yet another televised dance party on Friday, June 4th, 8-9pm. Come as you are or come in costume. Come with your friends. Celebrate graduation by making keepsake recordings of your dancing on TV.

Get down to an hour-long beatset by DJ PhilosoBitch, who will play songs from 808 State, Ravonettes, Chemical Brothers, KC & The Sunshine Band and more.

TESC CHAPTER OF HIP HOP CONGRESS PRESENTS: 3 VS 3 CREW BATTLE this SATURDAY May 15 in the CRC (College Recreation Center).  Doors open at 5. $5 entrance fee at door. ALL AGES and open to the public (non-Evergreen students).

Seattle's own Circle of Fire judging the event, ABDC's Massive Monkees competing. $1200 GRAND PRIZE to the winner. 21 confirmed crews from all over Washington, Oregon, and California.

Hello! We know the Vagina Monologues just happened and put us all in the mood to focus on our own experiences, our own community, our own ideas of gender. Now the opportunity has presented itself! A group of people are putting together a new series of performances made by our own community, including all genders, all ages, all sizes, all backgrounds, all capabilities! Welcome to "Gender Tales" (working title)! A cooperative series of performances, be they monologues, dances, songs, poems, or any mixed media... We are in the beginning stages of this project and are in need of more help. If you would like to be part of this project in any way, please write to us right now!! olygendertales@gmail.com
We have multiple opportunities available for participation:
1) Write/Choreograph/Design/Create/[Whatever] an individual performance, submit anonymously (or not) for someone else to perform.
2) Perform someone else's story/vision.
3) Create AND perform your own story!
If you have a story in mind, but you feel it may not fit directly under the title of gender, THAT'S OKAY! We want to hear your stories of cope, identity, etc.... A Time to Plant: Dances for the Vernal Equinox will take place on Sunday, March 21, 7 - 8:30 pm, at the United Churches of Olympia, downstairs in the Social Hall. 110 11th Ave SE, Olympia; Corner of 11th & Washington.

Come one and all, and bring friends! Please come as 'fragrance-free' as possible. Non-perishable donations to the Food Bank will be gratefully accepted and delivered.

About the Dances: From the beginning of time, sacred movement, song and story have brought people together - at times of seasonal ceremony and celebration, as part of everyday life and life passages, in daily renewal and meditation. The Dances of Universal Peace are part of this timeless tradition of sacred movement, song, and story.

The Dances of Universal Peace are simple, meditative, joyous, multi-cultural circle dances that use sacred phrases, chants, music, and movements from the many spiritual traditions of the earth to touch the spiritual essence within ourselves and recognize it in others. Building on the work begun by Samuel L. Lewis in the 1960s, they promote peace and integration within individuals and understanding and connection within groups worldwide. All dances and songs are taught to the group. There are neither performers nor audience: new arrivals and old hands form the circle as everyone sings and dances together.

Since their beginning, the Dances have spread throughout the world, with about 200 circles meeting weekly or monthly in North America alone. Learn more at www.peaceworksdancesna.org.
