In keeping with the spirt of archetypes, my experience of Enuma Elish's accompaniment of Metropolis at the OFS Capitol Theater will be in the form of a blog poem...bloem? poog? Yeah, here's my poog (with a mere two mouseovers).

I propose that OlyBlog have a semi-anonymous meet-up and reporting of an event.

What? Olympia Film Society's showing of Fritz Lang's Metropolis.

When? Sunday, April 13, 6:30pm.

Why semi-anonymous? Because too many people from OlyBlog already know each other for it to be truly anonymous (unless we all agreed to wear masks) and organizing a time for everyone to meet before the film is not something I volunteer to do.

What's the point? It should be fun, supporting OFS is a good thing for our community (in my opinion) and I think reading a bunch of different perspectives about the same event could be an edifying part of this OlyBlog experiment.

I had no idea my wife filmed this sideways when I uploaded it to YouTube. Sorry.

There are a few images I captured on my flickr pool.

Tonight while heading to the Wall I happened upon some new sign art on display in front of OFS. Thank you, OFS. It made my walk better. And if there's a way to do this for every movie...yes.

As well, I tried to find out who the artist is in order to give attribution, but the person at the door didn't know. I have my suspicions but if anybody else has fact for OlyBloggers and Olympians, that'd be even better.

Edit: Thank you for the information cupric oxide, and thank you for the art Vince Ryland & Ira Coyne.

Which do you like best, before or after?

i have to admit that I kind of like seeing the stained glass and the gargoyles that were hidden by the marquee. though this sudden change makes the remaining OFS sign look very shabby and kind of sad.
