Singing Bowls in the Washington State Capitol Legislative Building Rotunda

Singing Bowls
Dress rehearsal for the singing bowls in the Capitol Building rotunda today. Sounded great. There will be another performance this Sunday the 19th, from 1 to 3pm. The singing bowl performance is part of the People's Journey: Global Day of Listening project. more info: The People's Journey. There will be also festivities at Heritage Park Starting at 6pm on Saturday evening, including live streaming audio conversations with the Afghan Youth Peace Volunteers and others all over.

Douglas Mackey, who is organizing the local effort, told me about a conversation today between Noam Chomsky and the Afghan Youth Peace Volunteers. According to Doug, Chomsky asked the Youth Peace Volunteers what he could do. They in turn asked Mr. Chomsky what they could do.

Rays on the Bay

Clouds Over Budd Bay on the Eighth of December 2010
Rays on the Bay, Wednesday 8 December 2010

The clouds were pretty awesome this past Wednesday. There were rays of sunlight.

It made me think that maybe this is a special time to be alive. Maybe it is. But maybe future generations will see similar rays and think similarly. Made me wonder what kind of world to live in future generations will have... What kind of world to live in will future generations have?

Also, on the topic of weather, word has it that there is a "massive" storm system with clouds stretching from Hawaii to the PNW coast. It's predicted to arrive sometime tomorrow, and it has the potential to bring large amounts of rainfall, and to cause flooding.

Ship in Port

Percival Landing
Friday 12 November 2010

Percival Landing—I think this scene is interesting because the mast looks like a cross, and there is what appears to be smoke emanating from it.

Also the light in the cool and hazy evening air. And the glassy calm water. Photo's from about 6:15pm.
