[Jan 22, '08: for more information about impeachment in WA State, please see Washington for Impeachment]

I received this via e-mail:
Impeachment Hearing in WA State Senate!

Thursday, January 17, 3:30 p.m.

Please come to the public hearing for SJM 8016, which calls for a full investigation of Bush and Cheney.

Thurs. Jan. 17, 3:30 p.m.
Room 2 of the Cherberg Bldg.,
426-14th Ave. SW, Olympia WA
immediately SE of the State Capitol bldg.

State Senator Eric Oemig has introduced Substitute Senate Joint Memorial 8016, petitioning Congress to investigate impeachable offenses allegedly committed by President George Bush and Vice President Richard Cheney. It will be heard in the Senate Government Operations and Elections Committee on Thursday, January 17th.

Senator Oemig revised 2007’s Senate Joint Memorial 8016 for 2008 (now SJM 8016 2007-08). The bill cites serious allegations of crimes by the Office of the Executive. A long list of violations to the US Constitution and federal law includes warrantless searches, manipulating intelligence to mislead Congress about the reasons for attacking Iraq, condoning torture, and subverting the rule of law.

As spelled out in the U.S. Constitution, the bill calls on the U.S. House of Representatives to conduct full a full investigation of Bush and Cheney’s impeachable offenses, and it calls for the U.S. Senate to conduct the trial. You can read revised bill at www.washingtonforimpeachment.org...

More than 500 impeachment supporters attended the 2007 hearing. Let’s increase the number of supporters attending in 2008!
