OLYMPIA MUSICIANS PARTNER WITH CRISIS CLINIC
Local music release to benefit vital non-profit
OLYMPIA, Washington (May 18, 2011) The Crisis Clinic of Thurston and Mason Counties is partnering with Olympia musicians to create an album of local music as a fundraiser for Crisis Clinic services. More than twelve Olympia musicians and bands have offered their recordings to the project, including Baker London, Kendl Winter, Pitted Youth, Hot Rush, Angelo Spencer, Matty Harris, Hari Kari, The Family Stoned, Margy Pepper, The Blackberry Bushes Stringband and Eleanor Murray. Artist Nikki McClure has donated artwork.
While many have donated their art to this project, it needs community support to proceed. Funds for printing are being raised on Kickstarter.com, a funding platform for artistic projects. On Kickstarter, an individual (or “backer”) pledges a certain amount to help fund a project; the project is only funded (and backers are only charged) if the project reaches its funding goal by a certain date. This project, Shot in Time: Olympia Music 2011, needs $475 by June 6th in order to receive funds. All backers receive a reward; for example, the reward for a $10 donation is a copy of the album.
To back this project, please go to Kickstarter.com and search “Olympia music”, or visit: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rosieharris/shot-in-time-olympia-music-2011?ref=live
Does anyone have any contact information for active houses for shows. I've heard that the swamp house and phoenix house are still active. Any contact information? Any other active houses?
