The first demonstration will take place at 2pm on September 26th on the Red Square on Evergreen State College campus. This demonstration will lead up to a larger solidarity demonstration taking place on October 5th. Activists from around the country are standing up together and proving that we will not be intimidated and we will not be silent. We will not stand idly by while other activists are the targets of raids.

FREE- Shoreline Living Workshop: Creating a Sound Landscape

Shoreline Living Workshop: Creating a Sound Landscape

Sunday, April 26th, 2009, 1:30-4:30p.m.

Celebrate Earth Day by attending a free workshop that will teach shoreline residents how to preserve and replant shorelines to stabilize slopes, protect Puget Sound, and provide wildlife habitat.  It will be held on Sunday, April 26th, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Pickering Community Club (Historic Grant School), 151 E. Community Club Rd, just off Pickering Road.

Topics will include how to create a beautiful landscape that protects the shoreline and requires little maintenance once established, what you can do on your own and when to call in the experts, how to have a view and trees, too, and other shoreline stewardship tips.

Bring your questions and take home answers along with reference materials for later use. Though the workshop is free, advanced registration is requested to ensure materials and space for everyone. Call 360-427-9670 ext. 680 to register or for more information. You may also register by email nmoloney@wsu.edu

The workshop is sponsored by WSU Mason County Extension, WSU Shore Stewards and the Native Plant Salvage Foundation with funding from the WA State Department of Ecology and the Environmental Protection Agency.  Extension programs are available to all without discrimination. Evidence of noncompliance may be reported through your local Extension office.
