Anyone drive on Yelm Hwy this morning? Holy smokes. It was a huge ice rink.
I was surprised i didn't see any crashes. I think the condition of the road was worse than possibly anytime last week+
In town, no ice by comparison to Y/H.
Then i saw a bicyclist being hauled off on a board via ambulance, looked like they biffed it coming down 4th ave just prior to the round-a-bout.
Hope they were wearing a helmet. Looked like they were riding a 10-speed-ish bike. (not what i'd recommend for those conditions!)Update:
"Thurston County dispatchers reported more than 30 incidents where drivers slid off the road or had collisions due to icy conditions this morning."
"Most of the incidents were on county roads, and at 10 a.m. conditions are beginning to improve, according to a dispatch spokesperson. The reports began about 4:30 a.m."
