Last week, the Olympian notified us that due to a redesign of their TV Week and Living Sections, they would no longer be able to run the TCTV program schedules. You can visit our website to access our current schedule, as well as download printable version for each week.

We have been working for several months on getting TCTV's channels included in online channel guides, as well as the on-screen navigator, and we are slowly making progress on that front.

Thanks for watching!

Sheesh, how nice of the

Sheesh, how nice of the local paper not to provide a schedule for the local programs.

Thanks for keeping the schedule available through other means.

Probably not

Enough demand for it.  I don't own a TV, so that part of the paper always goes unread anyhow.  I agree though it should have been left in.  Space is valuable though...

Electronic CJ Being Marginalized by Daily Zero?

I don't have a TV, but if we had something like TCTV out here in Grays Harbor County I would be tempted to get one. What? The O'Lump o' Pain doesn't like competition for local news and information coverage? So much for being "Thurston County's Homepage." What is the deal here with squeezing out a community resource?

If Olympia's newspaper of record won't publish the schedule, I suggest we OlyBloggers take over the task and make it at least a very more than obvious link. TCTV is our televisual cousin. We should support them.

Why don't you

Telephone one of the editors at The Olympian and ask them about this?

Good idea

However.

I don't live in Olympia, or even Thurston County. And I'm not even in TCTV's market. Plus, I don't subscribe to the Olympian. I live in an area they do not cover. So my opinion is merely a feather on the scales of their decision-making.

That being said.

I know Olympian staffers read this blog, and I invite them to come aboard and explain their decision. It is better to have them justify their action in a public forum rather than respond to each one of us through individual phone calls. Plus, it'll be on record here. The 4th Estate is not immune to public accountability.

Considering how many people live by the tube, this seems to me to be a serious and deliberate omission. I have to ask myself, why?

So I repeat the question with the hope getting an answer from the Olympian. Fair warning, if you Oly staffers PM me, I will make it public. So, what is the deal here with squeezing out a community resource? I don't get it.
