Thurston County Commissioner

Please excuse my presumptuousness if I'm incorrect, but I haven't seen anyone link to Emmett's Amazing Coverage of the Thurston County Commissioner Replacement Process.

As you probably know, Bob MacLeod resigned earlier this year  and the replacement process is a little less intuitive (also covered at Olympia Time) than say the Chambliss v. Martin rematch in Georgia.

In any case, the link above may or may not be inclusive of all posts which carry the common tag, Thurston County Democrats. So tarry and wander throughout.

Thanks for keeping an eye and pen on this one Emmett!

applications are online

13 applications so far (some might still be in the mail), and they're available here at the TCD website and scribd (for much easier reading).

My initial thoughts are that there are a handful of strong candidates, more good people who aren't qualified and a couple of people who have to be kidding.

Emmett,

Have you heard anything about Brendan Williams throwing his hat in the ring?

The Olympian reported Monday

The Olympian reported Monday night that he isn't. Doesn't want to be a career politician.

hmmm

Mah can't, wrong district.

Seems Bogni is a solid choice if experience is what the Dems want. If change is what they seek, someone so closely aligned to Macleod might be undesirable. I imagine Bob's endorsement is a big one in this.

Ken Camp takes up baton

I'm running out of steam writing about the county commission application process. I'll propably write something else, but Ken Camp over at his blog is writing about every application.
