I'm having a definition problem. Can anyone out there tell me the difference between a "Total Asshole" vs. a "Complete Asshole"? This thought recently crossed my mind. Perhaps the proximity of election season has something to do with it.

Contemplation Required

Try saying the two choices out loud, slowly and distinctly, while paying attention to concurrent feelings.

My own rough and ready definitions:

Complete Asshole is a generic and universal you-know-what. Commented on perhaps idly while reading newspapers with a companion. Or stated calmly while watching TV news.

Total Asshole because of that wonderful T means not only complete, but total. You dig?

sin on him

As "total" and "complete" share meanings, they're the same thing.  Chalk up the two terms to dialect.

Or feel free to be just a complete asshole and ignore what I've written.

"If you are a dreamer, come in. If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar, a hope-er, a pray-er, a magic bean buyer. If you're a pretender, come sit by my fire, for we have some flax-golden tales to spin. Come in! Come in!"

Yikes!  This is a scary

Yikes!  This is a scary thread.  Are there any facts or stats available? or is this going to be completely anecdotal?

Hey, Sarah, I buy you a beer next time we are at Broho, ok?  I think Marylea and I might make it next Monday.  No meetings, no promises, except the eventual beer in the bank.  I'm good for it, just ask Norm and Janet.

Brew

Mike, we have a deal. I plan to descend on the Broho this Monday, unless caimans cut my parachute.

Total asshole means, in my

Total asshole means, in my mind, means there isn't much else to this person, just an asshole.

Complete asshole means they've been working at being a good asshole and finally have achieved that level of assholiness.

»

I agree with Norm on this one.

Total is all consuming. Complete means that all working parts are in intact. But, when it comes right down to it, an asshole is an asshole, though no one is exactly alike.

Do you draw all of this stuff, Steve?

Thanks! I learned to draw in

Thanks! I learned to draw in the back row of classrooms at Roosevelt Elementary on the Eastside. These days when I'm attending important meetings, it is a real trick to look serious and engaged while drawing a guy with a frog growing out of his cranium. Rick collected a bunch of my OlyBlog visuals under "Steve's Comix" in the "Books & Collections" section. Here's a plug that will make me a total or complete something, but you can find my comix for sale at the Danger Room in downtown Oly.

For some reason

If I were writing about someone, a total asshole would be a circumstantial and incendiary articulation of assholedom. A complete asshole would be someone who never wavers in their assholedom haha. Of course I also invent words when I write haha. Crusty Christie
