Do advisory role(s) exist for the citizenry of Olympia on the topic of traffic design? I'm looking for a "vehicle" for citizen input on traffic design in Olympia, and a way to create citizen-directed transportation studies. Any thoughts?

However, while both of these committees intersect heavily with transportation, neither is specifically focused on transportation.
There are still many major city transportation decisions made with little or no citizen input -- for example, which big road projects should the city apply for grants for. Such things are more often a result of either one part of town pushing for their project (the best case scenario) or a result of transportation staff making their own decisions without talking to the public (the all-too-common worst case scenario).
I recommend you decide where your personal transportation focus is. For overall growth patterns, do planning commission. For bike/ped stuff, do bike/ped committee. For a specific project in a specific neighborhood, rally your neighborhood to hassle the city council. For anything else, create your own.
