I can't wait to go back! My two favorite spots - Baba and The Bulldog in Leidsplein, not the one in the red light district. In fact, all of Leidsplein was great.
I still like the concept of a pedestrian-only downtown Oly. Carless not Careless.
Try going without your vehicle for even a day and see how the world looks. Use public transport and walk. Downtown Oly is a bloody freeway!
It seems to me that a pedestrian-only core would enhance the feeling of community Olympians are seeking. The isthmus issue is tearing the community apart. Compromise and consider using the area for the benefit of business and the people. Make it a staging/parking area for streetcars into the core. In the long run it will attract tourists and spread the wealth.
and it had electric power as well. It was a tadpole trike with a rear drive hub motor like the ones sold here. I built the enclosure, and worked great in the summer months without the enclosure. It sucked in the wetter months though. The enclosure was designed to keep the liquid sunshine off me, but ventilation wasn't good enough to keep fog off the windows. It was fun to build, and I may build another in the future. I sold this one for a profit, and it's likely running around the streets of Portland.
