Ignorant Movie Review: Venus

Response to title: The second planet from our sun. The Roman Goddess of fertility, love and beauty.

Response to curbside poster: Good. I felt disappointed after Lassie, so I was hoping that wouldn't be my final cinematic memory of Peter O'Toole.

Response post-credits: While I don't think this is a great movie, the nuanced treatment of Goddess traits beauty, fertility and love, combined with the outstanding and witty performances by all of the older thespians, made it well worth watching. Peter O'Toole plays an aged actor playing aged and dying roles at the end of his career in between hanging out with other aged actors and a budding Venus, the cinematic equivalent of standing in front a mirror with a mirror behind you. The performances really do make this movie, and I presume it has something to do with the immediacy of the script's relevance to the cast. I would recommend this film to most people, and especially to fans of Peter O'Tooole. Besides, I do appreciate the fact that I will never look the same way at a woman standing up through a limosine sunroof again.

Rating: 3.05 out of 5 Oly Stubbies.

Venus

Great coincidence, because the planet Venus is SUPER BRIGHT in the Western sky right now!
