These two were at the port protest yesterday (November 10). From their sideline vantage they hurled insults at both protesters and police while shouting things like "just crack'im on the head!" and "hit the dirty hippy, you know you want to!" and "hit the pig in the face!"

Thank you

This gives me chills. I hope folks pay attention to this.

Inciting a riot?

Wouldn't these two be subject to arrest for inciting a riot?

That sounds about right.

When you think of the long and gloomy history of man, you will find more hideous crimes have been committed in the name of obedience than have ever been committed in the name of rebellion. -C.P. Snow

Petition to Prosecutor Office to Indict

I challenge the parties to my right politically to lead the way to identify these people and to engage with the prosecutor's office to investigate their activity and indict them if appropriate.

Not all speech is protected by the first amendment. You cannot shout fire in a theater when there is no fire and claim first amendment protection. Similarly, if these individuals encouraged both sides - peaceful, even if law-breaking, protestors to assault the police, and police simply doing their job as they understand it, to assault the protestors through excessive use of force - than it should be much harder for these individuals to claim any constitutional protection for alleged behavior.

None of us need a riot. None of us need to assault a police officer. None of us need to be assaulted by a police officer. The described behavior appears to simple incitement to riot. The political persuasion of the inciters should not be a consideration.

Will the folks here who espouse such respect for law, such disdain for law-breakers, be consistent and work to bring these law-breakers to justice?

I challenge any of you who have mentioned law-breaking as part of your disagreement with the protest to be consistent and work on bringing these apparent law-breakers to justice.

Sure, I would love to see

Sure, I would love to see them prosecuted. Along with anyone else who broke the law. However actions speak much louder than the words these ingrates were yelling. Why so upset with them? If you are upset with them then you have to be upset with all of the folks who broke the law. Please don't take this the wrong way, if people want to be civilly disobediant that is great, don't bitch when you pay the price though.

Speaking for myself

I'm concerned about all extremism and violence. I understand that this comes in a variety of guises on all "sides". I am concerned about these two guys because something more is going on here, they were working both sides, and I wonder why.

Just as I would be concerned about say an individual who suddenly works to rile up formerly peaceful protesters, who encourages them to be violent, I would want to know what their motivation is.

Situations like this at the port can be dangerous for many reasons and it ain't just black and white, right and wrong polarizations happening, at least in my view. I believe that there are cops that are doing the best they can and cops that should be off the job. I believe that there are protesters who are doing the best they can and protesters that really should stay home.

I have more ideas on this but this is good for now, look forward to responses and more ideas.
