Things have just been crazy with this whole levy business. It's horribly frustrating and also stressful. It just kills me that Terry might not have his wonderful amazing program that he, and the students, have worked so hard to get at the level they are at. Somehow he's become the poster child for the levy and three news stations have come and interviewed him. I put links to two of them but couldn't find the KIRO video. I think the KOMO one came out the best. There was also an article in the Olympian. http://www.king5.com/video/index.html?nvid=241601 http://www.komotv.com/news/18671319.html (click on 'watch the story) I just think it's so wrong that a child's education is put up for public vote. Is the system broken? Of course it is. There are a million things wrong with it but voting no for this levy will only make it worse. People need to put their energy into working for change at the top starting with who they vote into school board and state positions and not by punishing these kids. Terry is an amazing teacher and I would just hate for his students to lose him. And I have grown to love and care about his students and it breaks my heart to think about what happens if it's a "no" vote. They have become a part of our lives. They are funny, wonderful, kind, amazing human beings and they don't deserve to have this all taken away from them because people are upset with things that are completely out of their control.

Submitted by Ehver Green on Tue, 05/06/2008 - 7:17pm.I read about Terry in The Olympian today and that led me to your personal blog. Great pictures in San Fran, OG!
I hope it all works out for you and your family. I do believe the campaign for "Yes" has had an effect on the NTSD community. A positive one with the levy passing.
We do need some reform here. Going through this every two years is painful and unnecessary.

This has been an ongoing issue for Oly area schools? I'm almost completely in the dark about this sort of history in Olympia.
