Wally writes on his livejournal blog that a deer darted out in front of him near the Olympian building downtown. Read the rest of his story and watch out for those downtown deer.

It's so sad to see animals

It's so sad to see animals get hit by cars. Good reason to go the speed limit.

Speed Limit

I try really hard to go the speed limit. It's easy to think that you are "acomplishing more" by "getting there faster" but really, for the few seconds that you save going from A to B, the added stress and chaos of weaving in and out, trying to beat this and that light, really isn't worth it.

I saw a fox running down my road (eastside) at aout 10:25, tonight!

Getting there quicker

I commute to Tacoma almost every Friday evening for a music gig and have mastered the art of avoiding I-5 when the traffic is bad. From Lacey to the Nisqually area, you can go out to Yelm Highway down turn left off it and right onto Reservation Road, over to Mounts Road. I enter I-5 at Mounts Road and if it's stacked up again, I get off at Center, drive through Dupont (stop for coffee), down through Steilacoom (a scenic drive anyway) up the hill from Chambers Creek and I'm in Tacoma. I don't think I save time, I think I save sanity, although others would disagree.
