is that in two mid-west US states they've already outsourced their drive-thru services overseas. Does this mean that the NSA will be listening everytime someone orders from their car? It seems to match the criteria for foreign-to-domestic communications they have so gleefully coveted, ilegally without warrants...

Can you imagine applying to the FISA court for a warrant to listen to the McDonalds drive-thru? LOL!

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) — McDonald's (MCD) wants to outsource your neighborhood drive-thru. The world's largest fast-food chain said Thursday that it is looking into using remote call centers to take customer orders in an effort to improve service at its drive-thrus. Company officials said the idea, being tested at a small number of restaurants in the Pacific Northwest, is aimed at reducing the number of mistakes. full story:

bull-shit

This is NOT in ANY way to improve customer service, the ONLY reason to outsource jobs is save a bunch of money on payroll. This should not be legal, this is why our economy is in the tank. Unionize Fast Food!

You clearly have not ordered from a drive through recently

Businesses are concerned with the quality of inputs as they are the prices. The effectiveness of labor and its price determine the bottom line. But, yes, all things equal, the successful capitalist will opt for a lower wage any day.

I threaten to take my kids

I threaten to take my kids to McD's if they bitch about what I've made for dinner.  Hasn't failed yet!

It makes me so happy to hear that that threat works!

What a difference a few generations makes

I would have bitched about mom's dinner everyday if I had that offer. And mom is an excellent cook. Eating in the car with the whole family was like a mini-vacation to me, and McDs or A&W were little Disneylands and Disneyworlds.

If McDonalds wants my

If McDonalds wants my drive-thru experience to go smoothly without mistakes, I don't think having me deal with someone who doesn't speak understandable English is the way to go.

I doubt they are going to take that chance

if the goal is to reduce mistakes or at least keep them the same for a lower cost. I've talked to some pretty good English speakers named "David" lately.
