I live on Scott Lake Golf Course and have access privileges to the park and the lake.

Might we find enough interest in the First Ever Olyblog Open 9 Hole Golf Tournament and BBQ?

I'm thinking maybe mid-September, because in late September I really should be back at school. I know I keep you amused, but I feel I'm being used....wow, off on a Rod Stewart there.

Anyway, if there is enough interest, I'll host the deal. The BBQ will be potluck.

I'm a terrible Golfer

But I've got a wicked fade when I'm on...which is rather rare...once round if I'm lucky. I might be up for an Olyblog game of skins or whatever people do these days. Any other bad golfers out there? You don't wear nickers when you golf, do you?

Never thought of that....

Nickers....hmmm....

I'm thinking that the score would be less important than the event and the BBQ

Count me in then

Good idea.

If the interest is there I am totaly in.... I love me some golf.

I played golf once. With clubs that were too short, I kept topping the ball. I stopped keeping score after the third hole. So no, no golf for me.
»

Oh, sure

Blame it on the clubs. Trust me, as an expert golf ball topper, it has nothng to do with the club.

As right as you probably

As right as you probably are, I still don't feel the need to relive that. It took me about 8 tries to get over this little pond, I don't want to think about it.

I'd be up to playing for fun

I'd be up to playing for fun and meeting folks from Olyblog, and bringing something to eat.

I'm pretty sure there will be golfers...

...and non-golfers (like me). What if you gave a time for golf, and a time when others could show up for just the BBQ?

Pretty much what I had in mind, Rick

I'll check my performance schedule to make sure I don't have conflicts and come up with a date.  Probably start golf around 10pm and picnickers could slide in around noon.  The course is about 2.5 hours playing time.  I'm sure Mrs. Larry could help reserve the site, if a couple volunteers would swing in to holf down the fort with her.

Let's keep the momentum going.  Oh...and I do own two sets of clubs if someone needs to use one.

About as serious as I get is "me against the course".  Golf is a great social event, as far as I'm concerned.

is that pronounced go-lf?

My family would be interested in a bbq. We'll let the rest of you ruin a good walk without us.

Excellent idea, though. And thanks for the open invite.

clubs

I've been wanting to do a golf routine with a set of ancient clubs I picked up from a friend... plus an assortment of tools that would fit in the case (bow & arrow, fishing pole, etc.). Inspired by the likes of WC Fields, of course.

Goodness, golf is just flog spelled backwards.
